About Us

We are sisters! Not by blood but ‘by law’. Both TV presenters and podcasters, we clearly share similar interests! Plus we both have a passion for personal growth.  Our paths crossed in Senegal while we were both at a cross road in life.

And then, like a butterfly emerging...

NUKA was born.

I'm Nush

As a London-born and bred TV presenter, I was accustomed to the hustle and bustle of city life. But when I became a mother, I found myself struggling to balance work and family, feeling burnt out and overwhelmed.

Desperate for change, I embarked on a personal growth journey through therapy and also decided to visit family in Senegal. There, amidst the slower pace of life and my self-reflection work, I began to find myself again. I gained clarity on who I truly was and what I wanted in life.

I finally feel like I’m living and couldn’t be happier.

I'm Ninka

Third culture kid, born to a French mother and a Senegalese father.

A year ago, after the loss of my brother combined with career issues, I felt overwhelmed with sadness and frustration. I felt stuck and I couldn’t help but look at everything in a negative light.

I decided to pack my bag and embark on a solo trip. What I discovered changed my life. The beauty of an unknown place opened my eyes to the little miracles of life. I started to see things from a whole different lens.

That time away from home gave me perspective, new ideas, new solutions and new hopes started to flourish. My creativity opened up and to my surprise it wasn’t by simply sitting down, planning and thinking about what I needed to do. It was also the discovery of the beauty of the world… It was in moments in front of a spectacular waterfall that sparked ideas that would change my life. I returned home inspired, stronger, excited about what the future holds.

When I got back, I realised the importance of having easy to implement every day tools for self development to make sure that I would implement the changes that had come up on my trip. Those were crucial to experience more balance and take positive strides for the future.

This powerful experience made me realise that Senegal’s breathtaking beauty holds the power to create change for others
